White House says it will reconsider China tariffs, only if China acts first. China is open to talks if it is shown respect. This falls on deaf ears as Nvidia warns of future higher chip costs and problems selling to China, is -6% after hours and its fall pulls all US futures bourses lower, influencing APAC and Europe into negative moves. Even China's Q1 GDP growth beat (5.4% v 5.1%) was unable to bring any cheer. Flight ensues and Gold prints a new all-time high once again. DAX -0.57%, CAC -0.68%, FTSE -0.53%, Euro STOXX600 -0.87%. Part of the flight keeps Swiss Franc and JP Yen as outperformers, DXY 99.60. Gold 3305. BTC $83,627.
