Morning everyone, Darren at Leviathan Financial, European stocks are taking their cues from the US , up about 0.6% as optimism about a deal being reached on the debt ceiling were abound yesterday, and McCarthy stated that a deal would be made and could be made by the weekend. , this would be great news for the markets and would sew the seeds for a rally and for the S&P to test to the upside level around 4220.
Cannot stress enough that, a deal has to be made, , the prospect of a potential default. We only have two weeks left, by the way, before the US runs outta money., Is pretty much unthinkable, would , send us into a recession and break what is already at fragile banking market.
But for now, we’re optimistic that things will be fixed. , and so therefore rates are going a little higher and volatility is coming off. You have, today on your ticket, Philly Fed and a couple of Fed speakers. and existing home sales. So keep an eye out on that and of course, keep an eye out on the wires for any further news about the debt ceiling and any deal to be struck.
So good luck everyone, and have a great day.
